Rossi isn't mathematically out of it... and we all know he can handle pressue. If Rossi wins every race from here on out and Nicky get's 2nd in every race he only wins by 10 points. I doubt Nicky will be able to pull 2nd in each race, but we all know Rossi can win 6 in a row.

I'm rooting for Nicky... but I still think Rossi is his biggest threat.

true, rossi isnt technically out of it...but come on...

thats riding on a big, gigantic "if" of rossi having 6 straight 1st place finishes and hayden having some kind of misfortune, or being incosistant... of course rossi has talent coming out of his ears, but even in his top form he isnt guaranteed a 1st place finish everytime.

aside from that rossi fans have more to fear from bike issues. you cant get a 1st place finish, or even a podium finish...or even ANY finish if your bike pukes and decides to spew smoke and the tires crumble like cookies.

IMO just to many if this AND if that's AND if this doesnts...

if something misfortunate were to happen to nicky, or he lost his consistancy, its pedrosa and melandri that will have the biggest chances to cherry pick a championship.

not likely to happen in my opinion, #69 is Mr. consistancy this year....

i guess here in a few more hours we will have an even clearer picture...i cant wait!

I just fishing washing the race. I don't want to spoiled but the championship is not over yet.

IMO I think Pedrosa has a better chance of winning the champioship than Nicky.

^^ No its not over yet. Haydn still has a 25 point lead to overcome for the guy in second. And the guy in 3rd place in points sure did get close to winning.

Not too good for your champ. Pedrosa has a very good chance. he is quietly getting there.

admitadly not the best finish for #69.

but its still a great day to be nicky hayden, as he is still the world class motogp championship points leader.

over on the right where it says schedule. click where it says champ po.

its not yet updated from todays race though

you can also click on the left where it says results.then where it says race, change it from classification to world standing, they are allready updated there.

heres the top 5

1. Hayden 201
2. Pedrosa 176
3. Rossi 163
4. Melandri 161
5. Capirossi 151

and for anyone who wants to do math...

1st gets you 25
2nd gets 20
3rd is 16
4th is 13
5 is 11
6 is 10
and so on until
15th place gets you 1 point.

if im not mistaken you might also get a point for takin pole at qualifying, can someone verify?

rossi and pedrosa really have to peform spectaculer to have a chance. keep in mind that if pedrosa does well for a 2-3 races and rossi does well for 2-3 they severely hurt each others chances of either of them taking it.

basicly if pedrosa and rossi battle it out, they may end up handing it to nicky.

for example:

say nicky comes in 3rd here on out.
say rossi gets three 1st, and pedrosa get two.

hayden 281
rossi 270
pedrosa 274.

i think if pedrosa takes 3 1sts, and rossi only 2, then pedrosa has a real chance.

some interesting facts (i should write a news column, lol)

there have been 12 races so far, with 5 more to go.

hayden is the only rider in the top 7 to not have a DNF.
pedrosa has one DNF, Rossi has three, and stoner has four.

hayden has finished in the top 3, 75% of the time.

pedrosa has finished in the top 5, 75% of the time.

rossi has finished in the top 2, 50% of the time, but only earned a total of 23 points for the other 6 races combined.

I still think the championship is not defined yet. As always we see Nicky being consistent and at the top and we are like "Nicky the new champ bla bla bla, Nicky's marketing sky rockets and that is what I hate. he is an awesome rider but he doesn't have the champ yet. Even if Rossi and Dani battle, what if Nicky gets one DNF, and another 9th place, and pedrosa gets 2 second places, etc. math wise is still open. What if nicky injures like Capirossi. It was a great race and YEEEEEAAAhh for my Ducati Team, i know we are not there in GP but good race for capi.
