also maybe depends on your lane position.
myself, with 2 lanes going the same way i put myself closest to the center of either, puting my headlight in their side mirrors. yeah it is closer to the car but hope that they see me first and don't come into my lane. I also NEVER ride alongside of cagers, when i come up on them i speed up slightly and get past them

Yeah, I try not to ride alongside them but if you commute during rush hour it's impossible not to.

I'm sure commuting on the bike is not the best idea but I'm getting 46+ mpg. That's how I justified the expense of buying the bike. I figured if I spend $200+ a month on gas a bike will cut that roughly in half leaving me $100, so my 2 year $240/mo motorcycle note effectively becomes $140.

How can I not get a zx6r for $140 a month???

I don't know about you guys but my Harley has a pretty good horn - sounds American. It doesn't always help, though.

just defened your lane (if a car is on your left be in the left side of the lane) and have a way out only real thing you can do.

if your on the right side of the lane in heavy traffic there is a good chance the car isnt gonna see you over there before he starts to get over.

I always carry a handfull of 3/8 inch ballbearings in my pocket,And when someone cuts me off intentionally i give them a toss in the air and watch the car scatter. Works everytime makes them think about cutting someone off again. Done it bunch of times.
