I SAW SOMETHING THAT SCARED THE DOO DOO BUTTER OUT OF ME.

i have seen a lot of things when riding, people cutting you or getting in your lane with a blink of an eye but what i saw today just leaving work did scared the out of me.

i was just seating at the traffic light leaving work on the bike (beltway and 59)
there was this guy that i didn't see coming until he passed me (at the red light) coming about 30mph (older model red Suzuki busa, black male, 6'1, skinny) anyways.. long story short, this guy went right in the middle of traffic and almost got hit, not just almost got hit but almost got KILLED, his helmet was strapped on the back seat and his eyes were watering...

he said that he's brakes fail to stop him, he looked like he was a new rider (why??) because he said that when he brakes that his rear end slides, so i was like... you most be locking your rear when you're coming to a stop. use more of your front brakes! i told him

anyways... the point of this story is?!?!?!

make sure that your bike is running in really good condition and if you are not going to have gear on, well... put a motherfocking helmet on!!!

i hope he made it home safe!
seen someone almost getting killed with traffic coming at him at about 55mph and him just going right in the middle of them its some that i wish i had a camera on!

this is the best video i can show that would had happen to him if he got hit.. now just picture that.
i know that the guy on this video wasn't at fault but its just an example.

If it had marble in the paint and a single exhaust it was probably my stolen busa... in that case (only) good.

Busa! Best beginner bike EVAH! Better than a Gixxer even. Glad he didn't get smooshed, but hope he learned something- unless it was Cali's stolen Hootabootie. Then I hope he remains blissfully ignorant of said laws of physics and the skills required to rein them in.

Yah know, scientists believe that the population is actually getting smarter over time, and I definitely believe in scientific reasoning. I can't see how they thought this through or tested the theory though. We've made it so easy for stupid people to survive and reproduce. Maybe the busas were made to put things back into balance. Not that riding them makes you stupid, but riding with with no experience = idiot. I've been given the chance to ride one and I turned it down flat cause I know I'm not ready for it. And I've put 30,000 miles on the road on bikes and done a trackday. I bet that guy didn't even have a motorcycle endorsement on his license.

A little chlorine in the gene pool maybe I know it sounds terrible, but I believe we are talking about the survival and success of the species here. Besides the fact that idiots put a huge burden on society and contribute little to nothing in return.

I may be flamed for this post, but I believe in personal responsibility. If I do something stupid and get myself killed, I don't want anybody crying over it.

That's not true. Haven't you seen "Idiocracy"?

Bet he didn't have an M endorsement, and was using his rear brake to stop.

Gotta love the seriously antiquated, only-on-a-cruiser mentality of "I do all my braking with the rear brake/the front brake is scary and will make you crash."

Its like this that gets passed down from one unproperly trained rider to the next that is the reason for having codified classroom instruction a REQUIREMENT for getting a license.

News to me, but I'd say good news. I took the course when I got my endorsement, but at the time it wasn't a requirement.

Sure, I've done plenty of stupid , but there are different levels of stupidty. Riding a Busa with no knowledge of how to properly stop one is pretty high up on the list.

Law changed....last year? You now have to have taken an MSF approved course to get the M endorsement.

He hasn't learned a thing except where to get some stolen chrome for his bike.
