why do people keep buying yamaha's when they catch on fire every time you crash them? You'd think the engineers could figure out what is causing it

I forget the exact reason but it's something with the gas tank or gas tank design.

I think it just sticks out too much, so when people lowside it puntures the tank mixed with the sparks cause it to ignite...

My friend Nguyen's bike lowsided and the tank got a hole in it...

Probably designed them that way so every time you wreck it you get a new one from the insurance company. No haggling with the adjuster. He takes one look at it and says, "Yep, that's pretty much totaled."

I believe this is a problem with the 06-09 R6 and they fixed the issue with the 2010+. Reason is the tank sticks out passed the pivot point of the bar end and rearset mixed with being a lil top heavy when laid over the tank will most probably get punctured every time. Traxxion dynamics make tank sliders to remedy this problem. And my dumbass just got an 07 R6

They should have designed those things with a fire extinguisher.

They could have thrown what was left under someones passenger seat.
