I don't know if this site has just grown or....

Are there a lot more wrecks going on now a days? I've been back on this site for maybe a few weeks now and I'm always seeing wrecks on the forums.

Are there just more absent minded people, or just more people on the forum = more accidents?

There are just simply more motorcycles (and scooters) than ever on the road.

Lots of the threads are just advising of a wreck; they don't involve members. The Internet equivalent o rubbernecking.

This..

There has only been about 4 members that have wrecked (that I can thik of or remember) the rest are non-members, or at least they weren't identified as members..

Maybe so, but I've been on four group rides this year, and someone crashed on 3 of them. There are a lot more than 4 folks from the board that have wadded one up this year.

I'd say that the ratio is likely the same as it always was. Obviously, more riders is going to equal more reckless riders.

+1 For once I agree with you.

Don't like this assumption, even if at times it may be correct. Bad happens to responsible and skilled riders all the time. Maybe not as often but it still happens.

There is a strong possibility that the ones that crashed were riding with other riders that were more highly skilled on a bike, tried to keep up, and rode beyond their personal skill level. IMO it is each riders responsibility to have an idea of what they are getting into, and if they still get in over their head, have the sense to drop out to avoid getting hurt.

its like morbid clockwork. you see an intro thread from some new squid that just got a supersport bike and then a week or 2 later you see a RIP or wreck thread about him.

I never even knew there was such a section on here. Why the would it get moved there, it is totally bike related.
