I went down on 59...

I was always told to be careful when riding, as I am... But, I always said it's not me that you have to worry about, it's all the other idiots out there. So, I will start with my story.

It started as a nice Sunday drive, and ended in disaster. I was on 59S in the New Caney area riding the posted speed limit, when out of nowhere I lost control and hit the pavement hard. The cause... A guy in a white car looking for his cell phone never saw me and clipped my back wheel. I landed hard on my right side and rolled about 5 times. When I stopped, I looked back to see if I was gonna get run over, luckily everone stopped. I was wearing full gear... Alpinestars leather jacket, Joe Rocket Gloves, Icon helmet, and Icon boots... If I would have had kevlar pants on I woulda been good. So, rash on my knees and a$$, hand is swelling up, ankles and back hurting now. I will be making a trip to the doc in the morning. Crazy huh? How bout this... The guy didn't even have a DL!!! I am lucky to be alive. My angel was riding with me today. I saw alot of guys on bikes go by, so if you saw it you know where it was. As for my 2006 GSXR 1000, a little scrape on the right side and a broken Yoshi carbon fiber slip on. Be safe guys, it's really not us that we have to worry about...

He didn't get arrested, and they impounded the car. He got all kinda tickets and his mom(the owner of the car) got a ticket for allowing him to drive it. Crazy, I was wondering why he walked away without going to jail...

With the looks of that helment, it definately saved your life. Kevlar pants FTW....rash SUX and the $99 is money well spent for the pants.

Glad to hear you are mostly OK. Definitely see the doctor sooner rather than later. Sounds like one of those situations that is almost unavoidable for the rider.

Your helmet and jacket definitely proved worthy of the investment you made in them.

Good luck with the physical and financial recovery.

Glad your still with us. That's why honestly I don't run the speed limit...I honestly go a little faster than the speed limit I don't ride on the defensive I ride on the offensive. Always looking for my next move...
