Well, all I know is I have a sportbike, lisence plate mounted at the rear, working turn siganls, always wear gear, and have yet to be "stoppped for no reason" or "harrased." 13 years and counting. Go figure...

Um, there is usually another reason they target certain groups. And it has nothing to do with ruining your fun. They are looking for uninsured, no license, outstanding warrants, drugs, etc. And yes, I know no one on here is guilty of any of those things, wink, wink, but it's just like shooting fish in a barrel for them. They KNOW they are goin to get someone for something.

Yes the crime rate is rising, but all of the things mentioned above are illegal as well.....yes weed is still illegal in case you didn't know. LOL

If you t-bone someone at 100 mph and you don't have insurance the people you hit are screwed. Yes, a motorcycle can inflict severe damage to a car and it's occupants if traveling at a high rate of speed, and no it isn't the cars fault for pulling out in front of you at that speed. They have a hard enough time judging speed/distance with bikes already.

Anyway some cops may be pricks, but we, my sport biking brethren, have helped them to be by doing things like 100+ on the overpass and losing it, and by not keeping your legal. It's cheaper to stay legal than to pay the fines.

License plates are there for a reason and “visible” is not subjective there are laws indicating where they should be placed. Traffic enforcement is not going to stop because other crimes are being committed.....

Not trying to hurt anyone's pee pee, but come on, be realistic.

Rant off.

Moot point as I have said that numerous times...however I will concede, particularly because I'm a "young black male", cops harrass whoever the they want to...they'll find reason. "Crash" may have been a movie but the shyt happens all the time...

PLease see the section titled Registration.

It states that the license plate must be attached to the rear of the vehicle.

Up under the seat on the inside of fender is not the rear of the vehicle.

Nice attempt to pre-position me but your arguement hold no water. What, then, constitutes "the rear of the vehicle" as designated by the great state of Texas...

One would think that the rear quarter or third of the vehicle constitutes "rear"...then we get into placement angle (I know a guy who has the plate on the rearmost part of his bike but the angle is so extreme that you would not be able to read it were you standing/driving behind it)

Flame away? Are you that lonely or are you really serious in your response?

Do you really claim to know what goes on through a cop's mind when they're out making illegal traffic stops? (I hope that you noticed the ILLEGAL part)

According to you everyone on a sportbike is "uninsured, no license, outstanding warrants, drugs, etc"...really? I'm not any of the above and I know of at least one more rider that doesn't fit the PROFILE, perhpaps there are a few more of us out here.

You're kind of thinking makes all people that look Mexican illegals, driving while black illegal, and all white people law biding citizens...unless of course they're riding sportbikes.

People like you make me SICK. You sit by playing with yourself, justifying the acts of the law because you say "it's okay with me, they're only doing their jobs."

You're as wrong as they are.

A crime is a crime and if an officer witnesses something that happens he has taken an oath to enforce the law, likewise their oath also requires them to not break the law while they're working.

You're pathetic and spineless. I wouldn't put up with that sh*t and I don't see why anyone else would either. Your justification and wimpy excuses for law breaking cops doesn't cut it in my book. That's as sad as you calling eveyone on a bike "your brethren."

Here's the real question did anyone get a ticket for having the plate mounted anywhere other than at the rear of the vehicle?

DOA whatever dude. I didn't say that everyone was doing those things. I said that they are "looking" for those things. Becasue maybe they have identified those things in the past when dealing with large groups of bikes.

If these stops are illegal, then there should be a complaint filed.

If keeping my bike legal is spineless then so be it. And I don't count you as my brethern, if your attitude is that you should be able to do whatever you want inspite of what the laws state.
