Spent some time in a T-Rex today!

I spent ~1.5 hours witha T-Rex today. It was great.

It had great accelleration and handling, and I seemed to sit just 2-3 inches off the roadway. The straight line shift pattern of 6 gears (same as on a sportbike) was sweet!

I took it down I45, and it was constant people accellerating to get alongside to see what it was. Constant thumbs up from people on the freeway. It definitely got a lot more looks than the Gallardo I drove a few weeks ago.

It was kind of scary at 100+ on the public roads because you are so low, and the average person is not looking for a very small "go cart" to fly by them. I did start looking at the layout and say what would it be like with a turbo kit on the ZX14 engine. Hmmmm

But the experience was awesome!

Anyone else have experience in one of these?

My son's friend has an Ariel Atom (I think that is what it is, uses a Busa engine) that runs it out at TWS (Texas World Speedway).

It is FAST... but not street legal.

No experience, but they look sweet. I think my neighbor just got one, there's been a white one in his driveway all week. Might go by and say what's up ....

I might be wrong but I think the first T-Rex's ran off 'busa motors. I think the vehicle is cool but nothing compared to the GSXR-4 which I WOULD buy and drive when I couldn't drive the bike (custom rooftop sold separately

its a rad TR3 running a bored out 1500ish cc busa motor, its a bad SOAB.

technically, it can be made street legal. it has all the lights and is not technically an open wheel vehicle. HOWEVER, it sits approx 1.5 inches above level ground. it would never make it out of a driveway.

the US ariel atom uses a Honda K20 in different forms. Nothing from a bike is on there.

Just like a bike.... Ratchet shift.

Shift once forward and you are now in first. Pull back the hearshift and you are in 2nd, and so on. Just push the shifter forward to downshift.

They are really easy to shift.

Turbo would be a must.... Shove a big air to air intercooler up towards the roof somewhere.....Secondary injectors/piggy back fuel controller.....

Would be sweet....

The earlier t-rexs came with the busa engine and the latest gens come with the zx 14 engines, would love to have one but cant justify the price, also would be smoking tires everywhere, that would get expensive
