Have A Situation, Any lexus Techs or Locksmiths in the HOUSE?

Hey guys

SO the other night, my key got stuck in the ignition in the ACC position.
There was no way it was coming out. I had to leave the car overnight and get it towed to a locksmith yesterday. The locksmith a really popular one on westheimer couldn't figure it out. I spoke to some guy and he wants to charge me 200 bucks. Before I did that any body know of this or has faced this situation. Any help would be great.

Thanks again.

Heres my number in case anybody wants to get in touch with me.

google my friend. common problem it seems. have you tried this?
yea, on some toyota vehicles, when you turned the steering wheel after you take out the keys, it will lock so that it can't be turned anymore, all you have to do is push it really hard while turning the steering wheel. try doing that, and if it doesn't work, call your local Lexus dearler, and if you are still under warranty they should come out to your house for free, at least, that's what our dearler said

On the Lexus forums they are saying it is a known problem, but Lexus never made a recall for the ignition lock barrel. It's going to need another barrel I'm afraid.

or you can do it your self (not recommended):

Depending on your area there is a My Mechanic in Copperfield who has a master mechanic in house and he is a guru at this kind of thing. My wifes car was going to cost 400 for a new cylinder and keys plus install from the dealer. He went in and deburred all the tumblers and it has worked just fine since. Cost 160. Same for my bike only it cost less due to the amount of time it took to take my cylinder out.
