What makes the Harley fun at the same speeds that bored you on a Suzuki?

Sportsters are for girls, but I'd trade my KLR for a Street Glide.

I do like Nightsters though. Somebody in my building had one like 6 years ago and it took me a week to figure out what it was.

I think it was that, at legal speed the Harley was at 90%, while the Suzuki was just getting started...

So a 50 should be the most fun of all?

I wouldn't mind a sportster, then again I come from a harley family. My next street bike will probably still be a sportsbike. But i don't doubt i will get one eventually.

Maybe, if you're riding it at 90% of it's performance capability all the time.
It would be pretty dang fun!

Buddy of mine built choppers (rip) in the hill country. He almost forced me to ride it, '43 frame, '60 something knuckle head, raked with apehangers no front brake (at all). You could pull a truck out of the ditch with it (stupid amount of torque) and I had to drive it on gravel and dirt (taught me something about throttle control though) I made him ride my in retaliation (he came back with a white face and sore knees). It was an unusual bike but awesome nonetheless. Another friend has a Triumph Bonneville and it's really comfortable and alot more forgiving, still wouldn't give up my need for precision handling and ridiculous performance!

First thing, a Sportster is NOT a cruiser.

Second a Buell is the only thing powered by a HD motor that can even be compared to a sport bike.

My FXR couldn't even be considered a cruiser. Sport/cruiser in stock form but not how I have it set up.

Road King, cruiser.

Irrelevant! A vrod isn't a harley. It's an expensive copy of a cruiser.

I rode an older Harley with high bars, sissy bar, stepped seat, purple paint, and an open exhaust. I was amazed at how good it felt, just putting around, for a 25 year old bike. I haven't disliked them quite as much such that ride.

To me that gets old, IMHO of course.
This is why I am considering getting a metric cruiser. I enjoy the ride. I enjoy the road.

I know people have done them but I can't see doing a long road trip on a sport bike. Even my Sport Tourer would need some mods for longer trips.
