Rider down: Me.

Was in Victoria earlier this week and a woman decided that she wanted my lane more than I needed it. I swerved to avoid her and when I came back on the road my rear tire slid around, caught and tossed me off. I am ok, except for a few nice scrapes and a bruised shoulder, leg and swollen foot. Bike turned out ok since the frame slider took quite a bit of abuse until it shattered, turn signal housing is broken and a few knicks on the tank and front fender.

Local bike shop in victoria checked it out and everything was good to go, so I rode it back to houston today. Oh well, women drivers.

I would have let her hit me. If you're going to go down anyways, might as well let someone elses insurance take care of it.

Probably, but knowing my luck I would have died or been really up. Either way it is just a natural reaction to swerve out of the way. Oh well.

The fun part was coming back today and dealing with the stupid traffic on 59 and being in pain from my ankle/foot. That was something special.

Sorry to hear you went down.

I'm glad to hear you made it out basically unscathed, though. I assume you were wearing full gear, since you're not too damaged.

Bike is easy to fix. Those scratches add character!

What were you thinking? Let her hit you, who cares if it would have been worse, imagine the insurance settlement if you ended up paralyzed from the neck down. If she even had insurance?

Sorry you went down, whatever you did was the right move cause you walked away...better yet, you drove away. Don't let any one second guess you

Yeah because no one has ever been hurt when another vehicle wasn't involved. I don't see a point in wrecking. . . . just to avoid a wreck.
