Get it! Or get an older ninja 250. I started on a 250 and they are way more forgiving as beginner bikes

Here's one for sale down the road from me. Located in Deer Park.

Looks like it hit the ground on the right side but nothing serious looking. I looked it over when I took pictures.

Is that a lot? I honestly don't know. It was just down the road and I happened to take a couple pictures on the way to the grocery store.

Well, its not a whole alot but...in my opinion, since its been laid over and has 5k miles on it you can find one in better shape for a few hundered more. Its not a BAD deal but its not a steal either

Not sure the ride height will be an issue since you're 5'8". The 250 should be perfect, but go ahead and sit on some at various dealerships to see what feels the most comfy.

SECA II's are excellent beginner bikes (and also a 600 cc) but they are low on power (around 55 h.p.) which actually works out quite well.

-More power than a 250
-But nothing like a full bore "sportbike".

Small people love the bike for its rider ability to flat foot the tarmac easily at stops. Insurance is less than some "current" 250s (cause some 250s still considered a sportbike, by some companies)

With a bulletproof 2 valve per cylinder air cooled motor. I have outright TORTURED mine, and they have " graceful degradation" meaning it can take huge amounts of abuse, and still carry on.

You can pick them up for around, and a lot of times even less than a used 250. A parts bin bike for sure. but they do everything so well, for the biginner, and those getting back into the scene.

something else to look into. but 250s are a GREAT START regardless!

I was wondering how a "what is a good beginner bike" thread turned into 3 pages, then I saw a girl made the thread.
