Some ZX6R love,.. (Sorry Aaron:)...

Finally got the nerve (and time) to shorten my Scorpion can. Turned out pretty well, love the sound difference. I had to drive home without the cap and it was a little loud but once I put the cap on it cut out some of the excessive noise. I wanted to drive it up and down the neighborhood street a couple of times to hear what it sounded like (didn't want to gear up for a hundred yards, and when I pulled back in my 2yr old son said "HEY SQUID, WHERE'S YOUR LID?!!!!!

I agree Aaron! It was a bit loud driving home from the shop but once I got the cap slipped in and riveted it ended up just how I wanted it to sound with the muffler cut in half! Thanks giving me the drive to get it done rather than spending another 2-3 hundred for the same look and sound!

I normally ride with full gear, but not to ride up and down my street I just think it's hilarious that he said that.

When I was at the track Sunday with mine (first time riding it with the cut can) I couldn't believe how much louder it was. It wasn't too loud (after all, it's at the track) but it sounded, at least to me, pretty good. Plus I think it looks better than having 2 feet of muffler hanging out back there.

Looks good!

Got to second the kid's comment though and be the raincloud guy. Our old Atlanta group lost a guy that we rode with about 10 years ago that was riding his Bonneville up his street to check the bike out after some minor repairs. Probably wasn't doing more than 20-25mph at the time. Dude always wore gear, except then. Dog ran out, bike went down, head hit mailbox post, dead - not 200 yards from home with his family nearby. You just never know.

^^ Good words, sorry to hear about your friend. Maybe I will change my train of thought and at least wear a lid from now on (always do except when going to the end of my street and back). Stories like that always make me feel for our fallen brethren and make me think of a ton of "if he only". Actually I just lost a friend 2 weeks ago to the same thing only he was on a highway when the dog ran out, this was in the hill country so there aren't many choices of evasion on those roads, and he was a HD guy, and up there you'd probably be laughed at for wearing a lid but it probably would have saved his life.
