gixxer kickstand problem

I have an 07 gixxer 600 and while Im riding my kickstand sags down and lets the sensor drop, shutting my bike off. I've gotta kick it like a horse to pop the sensor back up to keep it running. Anyone else had this problem? If so, how can it be fixed short of getting a new kickstand?

yeah, everything is lubed and tightened down and i've done that multiple times. At the moment i've got duct tape wrapped around the tab on the back of the kickstand to make up the gap, so that when it does sag it wont drop the sensor. I've got a fat friend that loves to climb all over my bike when he's drunk and act like he's cornering and he always does it to the left. Im afraid he bent it

Replace the spring that holds the kickstand up, that would be my first plan of attack. It should keep the kickstand from slacking off, you could always jump the kickstand safety switch.

I'd borrow 20.00 from your fat friend and use it to buy the new spring/switch.

Also, if you really can't get it sorted out, I'll pull the kickstand off and find another Gixxer, I mean pull the kick stand off and find another one at the JY.

Yep, check the spring! Some have two, make sure it didn't come off when riding...

Lube the pivot.
Make sure the springs are there and have some tension.
Make sure the pivot bolt is tight.
Slightly bend the tab for the switch.

Bypass safety switch

To bypass just unplug the switch and use a small screwdriver to take the two tabs out of the connector end. connect them with electrical tape and test it out. shove them somewhere out of the way. should solve it. I'm having an issue with mine dropping RPMs to 0 occasionally but not killing and I've narrowed it down to a loose kickstand spring, so I am going this route as well.

Just be careful bypassing it. You don't wanna end up like this guy...
