Ya' may first want to spray the filter with a degreaser or brake cleaner to get any oil residue off... that way, whatever tool you use will "stick" to the filter and not slip.

oil filter wrench

+

Double sided end wrench diagonal

Put the head of the wrench inside the band of the oil filter wrench and place it on the oil filter and draw it tight. When you do this, the head of the wrench will crush the oil filter a little bit and give you more leverage as you turn the oil filter loose

cant use that tool on this oil filter as it recesses into the engine case.
