toll roads and veterans

This may be old news, but I heard a while back (from the news I think) that veterans and military personal can feel out a form to become exempt from paying tolls. Figured I'd pass it along in case someone didn't know.

They just changed it up. You show your ID, no signing, and they write down your name and branch. Some of the attendants are quick and you get through faster than the exact change lanes. Still have to slow down.

Toll for Vets

In order to get the discounted toll you have to display the license plate that says disabled veteran. In order to have that plate you have have a disability rating of at least 50%. Also unless they changed it recently, if you have the plate you get one EZ pass and it is actually free. At least that is what I was told by someone who has one.

If you have a military ID they should be good to go. (but excludes dependants) I used it pretty much daily..

It saved me a TON of money and endless hours in traffic.

Yep, you just apply for a disabled vet tag and all tolls are free. There is also a clause for home taxes if you are more than a certain % disabled from the military you get something like 20% off your home taxes every year....

If you are disabled vet, LOTS of good discounts and breaks available if you ask questions and search...
