You would first have to actually wrap your head around a few things.

Those bikes are making so much HP they can spin through the traps at 1 mile with the front in the air. Its far from ideal for speed obviously. They actually have to battle that with set up and skill.

The bikes are pushing so much boost, its amazing the motors built by guys in their garages make it one pass.

The tires get smoked trying to over come drag. Think what powering through 200+mph wind takes. is multiplied exponentially at these speeds and HP ratings. Power need for every mph over 200 for instance.

These guys are doing it for the glory. There is no telling what bikes like Bill's and Toms cost. I bet they cant tell you what they cost.

People go down at the miles. Everyone who runs it seriously knows someone who has died doing it or at least been down at 200.

I could keep going but I dont like the bad side of it.

I went down at 140 years ago when i was younger and dumber...
It takes a while to get here like anything it's a progression, unless you can ride someone elses or have $$$. I build and do all my own work except for some machining and welding, so the cost is lower than it could be.
Bill is a smart guy with the best of everything and has worked hard to get where he's at. The press release that Brock put out after the 278 run he estimated the value at 90K

on that ....I have NO desire to go that fast..... I think the fastest I care to go would be maybe 240mph MAX.......I think 235mph is a good round number for a street bike but.....Now we have stg 1 kitted bikes running 230+ so...... I'm gonna shoot for 240mph on mine next time out IF I can penny up for the OD 5th/6th gears..... I figure its gonna take 400hp or so to go 240mph with full weight and regular street body work....

You really wouldn't?

I'd love to go that fast....then again I haven't been 225mph on a bike so maybe my thoughts will change as I go faster. Alan, check on your ratios but from what I talked with Bill about, you don't need the OD gears unless you really want them....

Alan still rides on the street a lot and they work out great for the street/race combo so that you don't have to run even taller sprockets which would really suck on the street.
