I rode, diesel (F250) wouldn't start due to the cold.

<venting after research> Can you believe that the Powerstroke engines all come with a block heater from International, but Ford offers the 6' cord as an option?
Cord costs $150 plus installation labor at dealer....
FYI...you can special order from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $25

just got home, that was an intense ride. There was ice on my bike from the rain this morning, and my gloves were still damp. The bike was even reluctant to start, which has never happened. After a few overpasses there was no ice on the beltway so I hauled all the home till the last overpass where there was a thin layer of ice all the way across, maybe a couple feet wide. I was doing maybe 90 when I noticed it right in front of me. All I even felt was just a big whip from the rear before it straightened up. Needless to say I slowed my down after that

I was hoping it would not be a bad idea to take the bike to work this morning seeing as the cage and the grass had a layer of ice on them. Other than the usual numb fingertips it was a nice ride in.
