The women might as well have been on their own ride, other than Michael waiting on us at stops. Thanks Mista Mohawk!

I was 2-up (the first time I've taken a passenger through twisty stuff) and Marishka29 is still a new rider, but the group didn't seem to care. After a few sets of curves, I'd hang back and wait for her. When I was closer to the leader, nobody else seemed to notice that she hadn't shown up in their mirrors. I'd rather have the ride take a little longer than wonder what mechanical failure or rider error might have occurred back there.

At least the weather was nice. Mike, thanks for putting it together.

Y'all passed the ride leader right after each stop. What's the point of him leading? I have never been on a group ride like this one.

Maybe it's just that us wimmins don't have that nasty testosterone telling us "I must pass this car, he's not going enough over the speed limit. oh, and while I'm at it let me pass other riders IN A CURVE WITH A DOUBLE YELLOW IN THEIR LANE!"

I was referring to one of y'all passing ME in the curve on a double yellow in my lane. No mistaking it, I was right there.

I had fun today anyway, no "boo hoo" here. I got to go for a ride, hang out with some of my friends, and it's the first I've ridden with Mike. Nobody got hurt (well, other than the mysterious flying bug that got into my jacket and bit my arm four times) and everone got home safe.

I guess that pretty much sums up my ride report. I usually have more fun writing up the story than this... :eh:

Man I'm dead tired. Got 400 miles in today and my body is already starting to feel every bit of it. Had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. It was certainly a lesson to see that not all rides are the same, nor do all riders ride the same. Thank you Rebecca for being concerned for me, I hope I didn't hold you back from having fun. I didn't want anyone feeling that they had to wait on me, that's why I posted that my speed would be about 10mph above the speed limit and wanted to work more on being comfortable with the twisties and working on technique. Glad everyone that made it out had a great time and came back safe. I would love to ride with this group again, now that I know what I'm getting into with you speed demons :icon_tong ...

Mike, thank you so much for this ride and riding all the way back down near my house with me. You were a great ride leader and thanks for watching out for me the whole time. Any ride you lead, I'll gladly follow...you are one kick azz man! Hope you made it home safe.

no problems, enjoyed your company,
Had a good time and just under 400 miles for me also.
As i stated in the initial thread i was not gonna be in a hurry due to reading about the wrecks the weekend before, BUT no matter, there are gonna be some THAT will be in a hurry. After the first couple times of zooming by me to then slow and let me past i gave directions to the next stop so they could haul at their own content, also no worries. glad nobody had any incidents.

I think Rebecca did a great job with her First passenger, Had i thought about it i coulda brought my rear seat and she coulda rode with me abit to let squeaky hit a few twisties solo.
i have put MANY miles with various passengers, no complaints.
Also Marishka on her little ninja tooled along just great. Think she said she hit 80+mph a time or 2.
Don't think i have EVER heard of someone as new to streets on a ninja 250 putting on so many miles in one day. MOST of u ladies woulda been CRYING after about 200.
Some people don't realise that when u have a group of 8 bikes as we did, that to pass a cage, altho out in the boonies, that is doing 70mph, it is difficult for all to pass. A ninja 250 just don't have a lot of get-up-and-go at 70mph. Hence a couple peeps getting irritated.
I knew we had a couple newer riders and again i was in no hurry. was out to put some miles on my new tire and take in some scenery. I have been on those roads several times at sometimes triple digit speeds and you don't get to see much in the process.
don't know WHAT happened to that BIG trailed machinery on 244 south of carlos but it moved MAYBE a 1/2 mile in the hour we were at yankees.
missed 3090 on the return but u guys still got to hit the forrest.
I had intended to take Marishka by that game preserve but it is either gone or i missed a turn. Oh well.
Again Squeaky seemed to do well with her first long distance passenger and Marishka did a great job keeping up.
Would have no problems riding with either of u again. will just give the squids a copy of the directions next time
later
Michael

No squid for me though.
