Commuting/Funbike DRZ-400SM or WR250X

Im trying to sell my ZX14 to get one of the above...I have a 25 mile one way trek with 90% of it being I-45 to get to work. Which one would you think would be the best for commuting to work but also around town/twisty road bike.

I also plan on teaching my wife to ride so this will be her bike aswell (I think)

I want something cheap on insurance and cheap to maintain(Im tired of my ZX-14 eating tires and full coverage ins bill even though its paid off I just cant get myself to just go with liability)
leaning towards a DRZ since i will prbably add a 440cc kit to it but whats your inputs

If anyone is willing to let me test ride either please let me know

I used to do 25 miles on my DRZ and it wasn't too bad. Mine was 60% at speeds greater than 60 mph, and 40% at speeds less than 60. Granted I only did this for about 1500 miles so. I can say that the 3x3 mod with proper jetting was the greatest bang for the buck with the DRZ.

I've ridden both very briefly at a track day, and I like the drz. I have considered buying one for a track tard.
thanks peter!

Thanks for the input guys....I was leaning more towards the DRZ to begin with too....I know there are alot of mods out there for the DRZ and I really like the way the dual yoshi pipes look on that beast too

I had a chance to ride Irak's WR250X at GSS and I didnt take him up on the offer

I didn't think the dual yoshi's were available. The only time I saw them was a custom job for Kenny Roberts.

There's a pretty good slow motion video of a DRZ backing it in on SMJ.

DRZ!
Great commuter and plenty of upgrade potential.
Only thing I like about the WR is the fuel injection and the looks.
Great bike, but I'd take the DRZ hands down.

U talking about that KLX that was at GSS last month? Man I asked those guys if I could take it for a spin since Im in the market and they guy said that it wasnt broken in yet and that the owner of the shop wouldnt let anyone take it out....then 20 minutes later i see someone ripping it down the track

Jokes on me i guess...

u really prefer the KLX over the WR? I would of thought the FI would of been alot smoother/powerful

If that bike was black, it belongs to GOE Kawasaki.
