With the right tools, its pretty easy. I've even done the oddly-shaped yoshi TRC cans. We didn't have the right tools for this one so it took a little grinding, but its all good.

If you have access to someone with a machine-shop quality band-saw (or maybe a chopsaw, I've never tried) you can make this perfect.

Yes, a band saw would have turned a 2 hour project into a 15 minute project.

It turned out okay for the level of...uhhhh...ghetto riggin we had to do. LOL

If you didn't have to go all gangstar with the tap, and I didn't up on the rivet locations it would have been perfect.

I just snagged an 06 1000k header for 15$ so...it won't be a problem much longer.

I actually am a machinist and we have a band saw but someone dropped it and it doesn't cut very straight so I've thought about using a dremel after I taped and measured the length and then maybe pulling the sound batting out if possible, cutting it with shears to length and reinserting it. Just haven't gotten around to it and I don't want to screw up a $200 can Plus it's my only vehicle and my original can is in storage in Austin (I drove back and forth to work once without a can and found it too loud, but maybe I can deal with it for a day or two) We'll see.

We started with a dremel. Wasn't too great. So we got a hack saw. It worked really good at cutting the Ti. Then we filled the cut as flat as possible, cut the inner core, left it to me to a few things up but it wasn't that bad.

This. The dremel was getting beat the up by the titanium.
