Not about totally refusing. If an adult comes in an demands an R1 then

I am talking about when a kid comes in looking at a 250 and the salesman, rather than encouraging this kids wisdom, tells him he needs to get a real bike and pushes him into a busa...

I stand by my statement that it is irresponsible in any case.

In that case, I totally disagree. You should not push someone into a dangerous situation. What is the difference in commission there? $25? Sell them the 250, then sell them the 650 6 months later, then a 600, then a liter bike. Haha.

I will say Matt over at Eximports is a good dude. He took over when my salesman started getting iffy, and though I'm sure it was in their best interest to sell me a new triumph vs a used yamaha, It's probably good he encouraged the daytona over an R1 for a first sport bike, which is what I was looking at.

definitely agree with you. He's really cool.
Honestly, I thought they had one of the baddest showrooms around. It was insanely huge and the bikes they had on display all the time just look amazing.

I've seen that place grow from from the small shop they had before on 59 next to fungs kitchen, to this huge building and lot. It's just sad to see such a amazing place in my perspective have to close down :(

it didn't "have" to close down, it chose to close thru poor business ethics and mgmt. give a shop like that to an honest guy and it will prosper. douchebags!

He is a good guy. I felt bad because I always went in there and gave him a chance to sell me a bike but they couldn't come close to other people's prices. Wasn't his fault but he spent a lot of time showing me bikes over the last couple years.

I'm not the kind to thread jack, but HSB has always taken care of me real nice. Every time I go in for service I pick it up and the bike is washed, prepped and ready.

On a side note, I've ridden with some of the guys that work at Eximport. They always seemed nice. Hopefully they will remain and the bad eggs will be washed out.

Eximports has screwed over a lot of people since they opened, many of whom are friends of mine. They had a cool facility but poor business ethics. That said, if Mancuso becomes the only choice in Houston, taking away the competition that breeds success for both the consumer and a business. Informed runor has it that the Texas Yamaha Group are also in the Mancuso sights-at some point this becomes a bad thing for the consumer.

Eximports/Mancuso Powersports

Eximports were crooks and never understoood how they maintained the Ducati and Aprilia line given their crappy reputation.

Mancuso PS- Bought two bikes from there in 2009. Good deal, real easy. 6 Mos. later wenr in to buy a Yamaha generator and they demanded me to pay for freight and set up fees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Yamaha South and got same generator w/o freight and set up for cheaper?

So, like most car and M/C dealers -buyers beware and don't bend over to pick anything up off the floor-it gives them an opening

At the point they lose competition is when they do as they please.

^^^^Yup, small warehouse off 59. I had to laugh at the prices, even back then, and the POS owner told me he could get the high prices he demanded because ALL of the bikes were for export to foreign countries where folks would pay much higher than US prices. So, within 5 minutes of meeting the owner and seeing the fairly amazing inventory of the original ex-imports I knew he was a POS and a liar. Took much longer for Houston to notice o9nce he got a sales team with him. Good riddance asshat. Glad to see the uninformed can go somewhere else to get raped now, knowing it will be less of a reaming than Eximports.

A few cool guys worked there.

+1 for Houston Superbikes. Bobby is very helpful and knows a lot about Italian bikes. They work on my MVs and my friends Ducatis and other friends with Italian bikes. They even helped me sell on consignment my 1098 and still got me a fair deal.

Highly recommended!

^^Mancuso is taking over the Ducati, BMW and Triumphs franchises, not sure why they let Aprilia, the bike is doing so well with Biaggi on board^^

Biaggi's sales are down. He didn't even sell one unit last month.
