They are busy writing tickets for red light crossing violations since the cameras are gone in order to make money for the city that is going bankrupt .

Also what would you say? That somebody run a stop sign and ALMOST caused an accident? They would be hauling a$$ I am sure :(

yeah to those who oppose his choice of action, can say that it isnt a good idea to do what he did until you yourself gets into that situation. it feels different when your actually experiencing it. i think its a bad idea to pull over n start a fight, but when like that does happen, i wud prolly ride by and kick tha out of that car and do as much damage as possible. if he decides to chase me or get into it, then that is his fault for wanting a dilemma. just my $.02

Similar story not too long ago...A friend of mine that rides with me is a trained mercenary from Marines Special Ops. His job is to hunt fugitives from foreign countries and bring them back to the States=Crazy dude. So one night he rides to have drinks at the bar. someone at the bar keeps talking smack and disrespecting him. they both leave the bar, and the guy in the car still runnin his mouth and follows my buddy. so my buddy pulls over on his R1 and pulls the guy out the car through his window and gives him a pretty good beating. a nearby cop sees the whole thing and pulls up by the time the guy was down. he talks to both the guys to c wat happened. in the end, he lets my homeboy go, and tells the guy in the car he is lucky that the cop was there to stop the fight. if not, that guy could have beat him to death and rode off like nothing happened

The police won't do anything if a crime isn't committed otherwise there must be substantial proof. They'd most likely just shrug you off because they can't file a report for an accident/crime that almost occurred.

I can oppose his actions and say I have been in the same situation and let it slide. Risking my life so my ego feels good is not worth it. http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=163093

I know from personal experience that they can file terroristic threat by words alone if you threaten bodily harm directly, or implied. This is regardless of what you think you justified as the reason to do so, or even did not do. Witty little law to protect the weak with a nasty title. Galveston County will lock your up with a quickness if someone accuses you!

I thought you would call the cops unless loaded means having 911 on speed dial

Well, I was on my way home on the bike after going out for a quick lunch and a guy ran a stop sign and almost T-boned me on the bike. So I hollered “WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING” and rode off. The next thing I noticed was him tailgating me. He might as well had his bumper on my back tire. So I pulled over and he stopped the car in the middle of the street talking noise. So I got off the bike and asked him what was up and he kept talking noise. I told him I didn’t appreciate him almost hitting me and riding my tail. I went to his car and said if he really felt that way to get out the car. He kept talking so I got in his face. Oh, but then he put his finger on the bridge of my nose. I yanked open his door open and pulled him out his car and jacked him up against it so he couldn’t move, kind of like the cops. I asked him “Now What”. We held up traffic for a good 6 minutes. After letting him go, he called the police. Luckily, I was in front of my friends mom's house and her boyfriend witness what happened. And, the cops in the area know me. , 4 of them ride with us and 3 belong to Majic Wheels, my brother in law’s motorcycle club. Needless to say, I don’t think he’ll put his finger in anyone’s face again.

For the most part, I try to be cool headed especially these day because you just never know. Yesterday, I just snapped.
Good job for sticking up for yourself. Be careful out there!

Probably another good reason to have a camera mounted. Would it be considered slander to post a YouTube vid "TX lic plate XXX000 attempts to kill motorcyclist"?

Well, it was a learning lesson and I appreciate all the advice. What I forgot to mention is that when he reached for his phone to call the cops, I froze up because I thought he may have had a gun. Well, that's when the seriousness of the situation hit me. This could have turned out worse, however, I'm glad it didn't. Ya'll be safe out there.

Yeah, well it was only a few years ago that a Marine was killed by knife at the Texas renaissance festival by some other patrons over some talkin. It doesn't matter how much of a badass you are, you have to pick your battles. As much as I like to hear that the OP schooled a deuchebag cager, it doesn't help us as a whole! When you avoid a situation under your own merit you should take in that experience in and learn everything you can from it which I hope he did. I'm glad no one was hurt, but you wont always have people you know around you, the next time it might be the other guy with the home court advantage!

Smart move! and good job Grad. I hope this gives him the idea not to jack with bikers and not the opposite where he will hold a grudge against everyone he sees on a bike. Very happy you made out of this without further inclination.
