Unhappy Someone spit on me today

There I am taking advantage of the gorgeous weather outside taking my newly fixed bike for a ride. I take off from a stop light and this car behind me decides that having less that a ruler worth of space between my back tire and her bumper is a safe distance. I do the responsible thing and just keep it slow to make more distance between me and the car in front of me until the traffic thins out some so I can loser her. She starts to honk at me and get even closer to my tire (I did not think it was possible but she found a way.) She then decides to lane split in her SUV pushing me almost into a bridge railing. All of her evasive maneuvering put her so far ahead of me that we end up next to each other at the next stop light. She rolls down her window and starts to yell at me, I yelled back telling her to learn to drive (childish I know). She then spits in my direction, luckily very little if any landed on me.

I got super for obvious reasons, but I decided to not try to retaliate in anyway. Instead I pulled over into the carwash and cooled down before heading back home to get something to eat.

I am not really mad anymore, my only hope is that she realizes that she behaved like a animal and does not act that way towards anyone else. I doubt that will happen, but I can always hope.

You're a bigger person than I am...I'm usually one to avoid confrontation...but I woulda deff done something to her SUV in retaliation for her stupid and disgusting action.

I guess you did the right thing

Well good going man that you took some time to cool down. I don't know what it is about drivers and weekends where they think that 10mph over the speed limit is O.K. on the weekends. I saw that all the way home today and did not mind if they just got in the other lane and passed me on. It is like they think the police take the Sat and Sunday off or something. Just an observation.

I wanted to bad, but then I thought to myself, what is the best thing that can happen? I mess someones car up, get my self all worked up and ruin my day. The worst would be that SUV running me over, or me getting shot. Ultimately I feel good about my choice.

Driving something that can take you from 0-60 in ~3 seconds when you are mad is not a good idea. Especially since the only protection you have is your gear.

I have noticed that everyone speeds like crazy. I am not sure why I notice it more on my bike, I will be doing ~5 over and people pass me like I am standing still. That is why I usually try to get out early in the morning so I can avoid all of that.

I do find though that for the most part people are way more courteous to motorcycles then they are other cars. That restores my faith in man kind.

On a funny side not, there are two squirrels outside my window having .

Exactly, that is why I put my ego aside and get away from that. No telling what is in that car, and how it could have escalated.

On 290 outside of belteway 8 traveling towards TWS (Texas World Speedway) to see the last CMRA race of the season a few weeks ago, I was passing an expedition while I was in the left lane and the expedition was in the middle lane. I like to pass people closely so they can see me in there mirrors and because this driver jumped lanes fast with no signal. Well, I guess they got off or thought I was "buzzing" them going 10mph faster than they were so they decided to enter my lane right next to me and try to push me out of the left lane. Luckily the cagers nearby saw what was going on got out of the way infront of me so I could haul ...I don't know what that person's problem was.

Another time, I was an innocent victim of I-45/South Houston road rage where 2 SUVs were honking and yelling at each other and one of the SUVs threw there starbucks at the other SUV only for it all to land on me. I was able to tell what flavor it was

You did the right thing by doing nothing but pulling over to cool down. You never know what the is in people's heads.

Ergh. Next time, save her license plate number. Maybe someone here could help look her up and we could get some squirrels to have in her SUV. Or a favorite of some old prankster friends of mine... cat urine down the front windshield (so some of it can get into the windshield wiper reservoirs).

It was a horrible video, but I was not going to spend any time finding quality squirrel . Believe it or not I have better things to do.

I actually thought about taking her license plate number down and reporting her to the police as driving with road rage and almost killing me. Unfortunately I am not sure it would have done anything more than waste an officers time and my time.

whew....I don't know if I could have the mindset to just pull over and take a breather. That's definitely the smart thing, but I'd be REALLY .
