Usually on weekends it would be Sunday morning if any, I have my lil girl on the weekends so unless it's at night, It's almost imossible for me to ride...

Yeah, dude...I'm down for just riding over there...but if we're gonna want to party, I also think it's better to put the bike on a trailer.
Yeah we need to plan it...you riding today

I just got in touch with the gentleman from Austin, that is going to cut us a SWEET deal to stay on his property!...It will have to be after new years tho, but I think it might be worth the wait, for those of us that are short on funds

I am headed to Kerrville next Friday along with a Solstice group and a couple vettes. I'm going to trailer the bike so if anyone want to go I will have room in the truck or trailer.

I live in Austin now and Lime Creek is just 2 miles from my house. Next time in ATX, let me know, I have some extra room for crashing. I live down the road from Oasis. Just got a Blackbird so I can ride again. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Austin is one serious kickazz city; used to visit family up there every couple months. Yeah I-10 isn't all that scenic, but after you turn on 71 it gets much better. 290 isn't much but just a typical highway.

Katy to Columbus (71 turn) is maybe 50 miles, all of an hour. I ride Katy -> Sealy almost every day to work, 35 mins at regular speed - record so far is 17 mins. So maybe 45 mins to Columbus if you ride like I do. 'Course most of y'all are probably farther in, but point is you shouldn't be on 10 more than about an hour.

Will warn ya though (not to insult anyone's skill/intelligence - mostly message for noobs) I-10 is heavily travelled and therefore a mecca for debris and roadkill. Pretty good for WOT in the daytime but miserable at night. I've seen at least 3 deer in the past couple months and usually still partway blocking a lane. Highly suggest keeping speedo at max 65 after sunfall.

=-=-=-=

PS there's a ton of awesome backroads with twisties if you take the long route through Bellville, Fayetteville and the like - takes you up to 71 just N of 10. I can give ride directions/suggestions on request. I put in MotoHouston on YouTube and saw lots of people riding those very roads so I'm sure there's plenty of folks here dat know more'n I do.

More fun to ride than trailer. Make a 2 day trip and roll back roads.

And if you are headed to "Austin" then I-10 is WAY out of the way.

A few friends and I wanted to plan a 3 day trip sometime in the spring to the three sisters and then Austin... That's still up in the air
