Bike hits cop

http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0806/349847.html

Right or wrong? Looks like the cop ran into him to me. I would be so off.

I know you shouldn't run, but that cop didn't have to say the things he did and inch his car foward, I would pay for a better lawyer and owne that town.

The guy is lucky that the police officer wasn't hurt. Assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer carries a life sentence. If he had stopped, none of that would have happened...end of discussion.

here;s a tip, if your commiting a felony, and you get hurt/killed during the process. don't expect the common jury to give you a whole lot of $ in a lawsuit. unlike many of you , they don't take kindly to felon's.

Actually, I had an HPD officer do a similar thing to me on the way to work a couple of months ago. I was heading South on Eldridge doing 62 in a 50 with no other traffic on the road. Was going in late that morning so I rode the bike. The HPD officer that was traveling North on Eldridge whipped across all 4 lanes of the road to directly in front of me. Sending me into the median to avoid his car. Luckily, I did not panic and simply avoided the car while slowing down to stop. I immediately questioned the officer on his actions. Asking if it was nescessary for him to cause such a situation to a single motorcycle in low traffic while I was 1/2 mile from my work. He appologized, probably realizing that I was in my bussiness clothes and was not some punk kid. I explained I would gladly except the ticket for my actions but, would have preferred not to have the additional risk involved.

You should have run.
Tested his "knee jerk reaction" and seen if he had any past experience with a chase

so that makes it ok then?

so if all u do is deal with one RACE of people does that mean you should treat all people of that same race like ?

Or maybe just honda. if all the hondas he has dealt with ran is it ok to ram his next honda cus all before had ran?

That cop moved more than a few inches to hit that bike.
To stop a robber or murderer i can see but a speeder no way.
