friday

thinking of going west friday. fayettville, nacadoches, 3090 carlos, forrest ect.
after reading about the fiasco on I-10 with the racer road ride not sure if is is ok to see if anyone wants to ride also.
I like to ride a brisk pace but don't need anyone trashing their to prove how great they are.
anyway thinking of leaving tony's restaraunt in sealy at 10:00am
hwy 36 just north of I-10
any mature riders want to put on some miles?
will be brisk but not stupid. maybe see some roads u haven't seen before.
weather permitting of course
later
Michael

If you can get me back to West Houston before 1pm, then I'll go. I can break off early at some point, but I have to be at work by 2.

Oh, and it also depends on whether I get my new chain on by then. Mine has little to no life left at this point, but the new one (and sprockets) just arrived today.

maybe break off in navasota?
the route i have made a few times.
sealy
36N to 1094 left
1094W to 109 left
109 straight onto 1291
1291 into fayettville. right then left
1291 to 237 right
237 thru round top onto 290 right
290 to scenic 390 @ Burton
scenic 390 around to CR 93 at the stop sign left (haven't been down this road but looks ok)
Cr 93 to hwy 105 left
105 into navasota

you may want to go south on 6 or take 90 east from here
depending on time. should be bout noon to 12:30 or so, but just guessing.

I will be going 6 north to 3090 right
3090 to 244 left south of carlos.
244 north to yankees tavern for lunch and a soft drink.
return 3090 to 149 back thru the forrest into tomball.

Will be moving along but nothing crazy. own pace. have no problems with waiting for others to catch up or for them to waiting on me.
Noctem said he may go also.
leaving Tony's Restaraunt in sealy at 10:00 am sharp
later

These are pretty much the best you can find for a half-day ride within close proximity of Houston. You'd have to head to the Hill Country or over to the Piney Woods in East TX to get any better.

Being as I'm still fairly new, my own pace is only about 10mph over the speed limit. Is that too slow? :binkybaby

Also, I don't get crazy through the twisties, I'm wanting to work more form instead of speed at this time. If there's no objections I might join up for this one.

all is cool.
we will be out in BFE ( **** egypt) so it will be mostly just us. very little traffic.
unless u are a first time rider u will not have any problems with our pace. I have no problems waiting for a person that is not as fast. I have a radar decetor on but when i see any oncoming cars will slow down. out and about i can say that i will cruise at "MAYBE" 20 over, again unless i see another vehicle coming towards me.
There will be a couple spots where the faster ones will stretch their legs abit but we will not lose anyone and it will be more of a "showing u other roads" type ride. I will warn before hand if need be, on what kinda road is before them if need be.
The main thing is just ride your own ride and don't let anyone pressure u into anything differant.
i DON'T want anyone running off the road for ANY reason and also no need for any squids that want to show me how great they are joing us.

leaving La Porte at 0830 latest and taking the super slab to sealy.
i live at 1906 coupland
la porte tx 77571
again all is up to the weather

also there are some really nice roads out west. I will not lose anyone.

You should stop at Royers Pie House for lunch (it's in Round Top)...they have an awesome lunch menu and great pie with Blue Bell ice cream....I wish I could go...but I gots to work. 390 is a great road.....hit it about 3 weeks ago and it was a blast.

I'm close enough to Brookshire to stay off the slab, but if Marishka29 comes I'm betting we'll meet up and get over there together.

Those thinking of taking I-10 might want to check this out first and find alternate routes....
