Monday Night 8/14

Since the only day during the week that I can attend a bike night is Monday, I figured I'd start my own. I know there are a lot of gatherings in the area, so go to what you want, when you want. It just so happens to also be football season. Go figure!

Monday 8/14/06 @ 7pm
Fox & Hound English Pub & Grille

11470 Westheimer Rd
Houston, TX 77077

(between Wilcrest & Kirkwood)
(281) 589-2122

All bikes, scooters, cars, trucks, bicycles, even walk-ups are welcome!
Just come out and have a good time with like-minded people.

This week is only a pre-season game (Oakland at Minnesota), so we'll be watching less and talking and ogling bikes more. I'll see what I can do about getting a section for bike-only parking near the door.

**Please, no drinking and riding**

But there wasn't any football on the big screen last night!

During the regular season, they have free games and prizes. Over the last 3 years, I've only missed 3 or 4 MNF games but I've walked away with lots of great stuff: DVD player, 2 CD players, dart board set, misc. DVDs, RC car, free food, etc.

It's not just bike night though - I have non-riding friends from work that come hang out too. It's a tradition for us already.

I could practically walk there...so, I'll try to make it out!

That's the first day the kids are back at school--I'll need a nice stiff drink!

I'm still beat from this weekend. Not sure if I'll ride the bike or cage it...either way I'll see you up there around 7 or 730 Rebecca.

Anyone else thinking about showing up tonight?

I was going to ride to work and then go straight over, but I ran late getting ready this morning and ended up taking the truck. I should have time to go home and grab the bike and still get there by 7.

Not sure how many tables we need, since lots of ppl have showed interest but not everyone has made a decision yet. I'm going to get a table for me & u chica and then we'll see who else shows.

It's a restaurant with a full menu, pool hall, and sports bar. I've gone for almost every monday night game for the last 3 years, and never seen anyone that arrives on a bike have a drink.

I'd like it to stay that way, but I'm not everyone's babysitter.

I picked the place because during the regular season (not sure if they're doing it for pre-season games) they have free prizes and give-aways on Monday nights. People in the group have won all kinds of prizes, from free food and drinks to dvd players, a set of golf clubs, F&H t-shirts, a stereo, and even a TV. I get waited on for ~3 hours, get to hang out with my friends, win free stuff, and it ends up costing me around $15 (including tip). How can you beat that?

I live right down the street from there, I think. You're talking about the Fox & Hound on Westheimer between Hayes Rd. and Woodland Park right?

I might have to stop in. Anyone want to go riding before/after?

Yup, that's the one. I usually say it's between Wilcrest & Kirkwood just because they are more well-known.
