Fi issue?

01 f4i won't hold steady rpm. Bike is missing intermittently under steady throttle and slight decel, not so much while accelerating. I'm new to fuel injection so I'm just looking for any input from anyone who has had similar issues. I haven't had time to pull the plugs yet and it's not getting water in the gas, no rust or debris in the tank. Timing chain isn't loose. Kinda stumped here this is getting very frustrating. Thanks in advance

give us some more details;

approx rpm when problem is worst?
randomly started one day, or has been gradually getting worse?
how many miles on the bike?
any mods done to it?
last plug change/fuel injector clean?
FI light/code?

No fi light. Yoshi slip on. Bought it about a month and a half ago so don't know the maintenance history other than what I've done to it. It shows 50k on the clock but it's a salvage bike so I don't know if its the original engine. The problem started earlier this week. I notice it at all rpms I frequent when commuting 3-7k.

if i was in your shoes, i would toss a can of seafoam in the tank, and toss a set of plugs in it.

plugs and seafoam are cheap and easy things to do, and if you are not getting a FI light/code... i would be willing to bet its just time for plugs and it would sure love some clean injectors.

I'll try that next day off. Wasn't sure if seafoam was motorcycle friendly

Don't put the whole can of Seafoam in the tank, mix it according to the can. Sounds like a possible vacuum leak to me.

Ugh, spent all day hungover messing with the bike and finally figured it out. Map sensor was bad. So if anyone has a similar issue that's what it was for me. Thank I had a spare one lying around
