Charles,
I have been dealing with back issues for over 10 years now. I would say you need to get to the chiropractor and have them take some Xrays. See if you pinched a nerve or slipped something. If that is the case then a couple of trips to them and they will have you popped into place and the pain usually goes away instantly. But, if that is not the case you could have stressed or torn a ligament or muscle in your lower back which massages will make it feel good for a while but, it will just take some time and rest to get over it. A hot bath with epson salt and a sedative like marijuana never hurts either. (You can use IBprophen as well. =P) Although, I would not suggest you do anything that is against your personal moral values.

I disagree..........go to your Dr and leave the Chiroprator alone cuz he won't fix anything he'll just make it feel better for awhile. Pulled muscle would feel better with rest and Ibuprofin after a day or two.
