Put race fuel in it. That makes it run REAL NICE. Smells good too coming out of a 50.

Nice job on the build...hopefully Gooch will get it lined out...

I helped a buddy build a 1507 many years ago, we went to dyno and it only made 210hp....we were like "WTF?".... turns out, we measured the quench/deck height wrong and had too much spacer plate under the block... We had an .080 and it needed a .040... .pistons were .040 too much in the hole...after pulling the motor, changing spacers etc, it made 230hp thru and old yosh duplex pipe....then we switched it to a HMF big bird and it made 238hp running out of fuel pump....this was way back in 03...

If you guys got the right combo, 230hp should be no problem.... I question the .378 webs on that big of a motor though... I would have ran the .425s for sure..or better yet the .425 Mega cycles..

I agree, I was asking him about 415 in. and 385ex. I've heard a lot of good things about that combo. He said this route (378) would be a good combo and that it will make good power. He always runs the same on both cams in his bike. We'll see. He has the bike now and is working on it.........more will be revealed.

Big valve carp head?

One good thing about the .378 webbs is they will still make good torque....that combo you have there would be a good street motor is the comp is around 13:1. But with a slider you wont need to worry about torque....that thing won't ever be under 8k...lol

Nice build, bike looks great...8.50-8.70s no problem on motor....maybe quicker once you figure the clutch out.

I assume you guys cut the tranny and put forks/billet shafts in it.....unfortunately this may be the next project on mine... AGAIN

The stock fuel pump is said to be limited to around 230.

So the cams were off a tooth. That is confirmed. Bike will be put back together tomorrow and hopefully get tuned on Fri. Colt is working on the tail. I didn't order the one with the tail light bracket, FABRICATION IN THE MAKING.

(Correction to the original post, the pistons are Wossner 84mm) That is all......

Cool....I'm glad it was just the cams off but.... Shouldn't he have caught that during the cam degree process? No way the numbers would have been right with it a tooth off....unless the intake was just rolled back one tooth....if that was true he could have likely corrected it with the cam sprocket adjustment.

I hope he DID degree the cams...also I hope he measured the piston to valve clearance for the cam degrees he used.

Good luck friday!
See you Sunday at Hrp.

Well, bike is back together]. Cams have been lined out and ready for dyno. Will be there at noon tomorrow. Tail has been fabricated and ready for paint. Tail and swingarm might even be on in time for Sunday.
