Motorcycle Gangs

I know many of you do not belong to any and will never. Just read in the news today that cities are now going after any organization that wears an emblem, especially drug gangs. The cities will sue the entire organization and all of its members for the actions some of them commit. I am not so sure I like this idea but if may get rid of a few of these California gangs. I just wonder how they will go after motorcycle gangs since most could care less if their lives are ruined in a lawsuit. HMM.

This really doesn't sound like big news. Essentially this is saying that cities are going after criminals and are casting a wide net to snag associates as well. Isn't this what the government is supposed to be doing?

I'm not sure there is even any legal precedent for this.

Interesting. If I read this correctly they are trying to make ALL of the members of the club responsible for the actions of ANY of it's members.

There is one around that consists of all cops, and another that is all federal agents (FBI, NSA, etc). They wear patches. I dont think anyone is touching them.

No chance in of it happening. Violates about half the Constitution and makes a mockery of our existing justice system. Total non-starter lawsuit, and they know it. It just SOUNDS good to the sheeple back home.

Further, just the stated intent opens the cities up to lawsuits as they are now conspiring to violate civil and natural rights under color of law.

I read the initial post too quickly. If cities are thinking of civil suits against gangs for the actions of individual members they will have a very hard time of it. If they are prosecuting crimes and cast a wider net to catch people not directly involved it is business as usual.

Make sense why they would do it. But it is a load of if they think they will win. I am thinking that unless they sue them as an organization there isnt much legal ground for them to stand on.

Kinda like when an employee of a mall runs over a kid, you can sue multiple companies.

But many of the larger MC have some pretty high priced lawyers on retainer.

I think this is just a bunch of smoke and nothing will come of it. None of it really makes any sense so far with what we've been given.

They can start by prohibiting felons from hanging out together. Thats part of felony probation.

...does someone have a LINK? Only thing I've seen recently was in regards to civl actions towards gangs. Of which they were targeting a particular section/area of houston (a very small area).
