Quotes? You're doing an awful lot of name calling for being upset over insults.

Arrogance is what you display when you look down your nose at the very people you are sworn to serve.

Remember this, my fine misguided badge-wearing employee, you ultimately work for me and every other tax-paying citizen of Houston.

You may think this is funny and want to play devil's advocate (badly). To some of us it ISNT funny. I have to live in this area you worthless pile of . I dont like having to look over my shoulder because some Eric Cartman wannabe thinks he is the law and has taken it upon himself to harass anyone who has a bike he doesnt like.

We are doing NOTHING illegal - poorly written statutes notwithstanding.

You know it. Holtsclaw knows it. His department knows it. The courts know it.

It is allowed to continue because it brings in revenue and nobody has been complaining.

Then we get dickheads like you that want to berate those who actually ARE fighting it.

Why you gotta push his buttons DVL? He's been over by a twisted legal system, and is fighting, standing up for what he believes in. There is honor and character in that, and he should get our support, not a hard time. Loud pipe or not, he was arrested for asking about his RIGHTS.

So he calls me a "worthless pile of " and I get asked why I'm pushing buttons? Ironic.

Only because I cant just bitchslap you over the Internet, cant put you on ignore, and you wont shut up.

As an aside, I have noticed in the past few years, many people operate under the mistaken assumption they can say whatever they want with no consequences.

There may be no LEGAL ones, but do try to keep in mind that one day you'll say the wrong thing to the wrong person in the wrong place, and your dentist will be doing a lot of reconstructive surgery.

I want to stress that is NOT a threat - veiled or otherwise. Simply a statement of fact that while society may frown upon physical confrontation, when you push a man's buttons too often, eventually men will revert to a more primal state.

Yeah, he sounds like he's about to lose it, but you gotta admit you've been kicking him while he was down for a while now. All you had to do was quit pushing his buttons.

The real underlieing problem here is that it is left to the cop's discretion. He could concievably give you a ticket even though you had stock pipes.
He could say that the bike was too loud. If you fight it in court you would likely win only because they are stock but you still had to take time, money and effort to fight it.
Now assume you have aftermarket pipes, not necessarily loud, you would have no defense at all, even in court.
If the cop says it's too loud, it's too loud. That's not right.
As stated before, it's a scam that the city and HPD are both in on. They are enforcing a law that you can't fight, just as a revenue stream. I hope it does get changed to some more clear standard, then we (as the population) can argue over what the "standard" should be, instead of arguing if it's too loud or not.
One way to view that is, whether or not it is "noise". The sound of a P-51 Mustang may be louder than a gas leaf blower but, which would you rather hear?

+1 It should not be left to someone's discretion. The law should be clearly defined. Which it is not. Which is why we all need to grow a sack and fight it. If we don't then we deserve what we get. Which is why I stand behind Honnors, hothead or not.

The leaf blower. It means the Mexicans got my lawn looking just right for the weekend and I'm pretty sure they'd chop the out of my bushes with a P-51.
