JP42, I'll send a link to this thread and see if the park will update their website calendar as your series is currently not listed (maybe I missed it).

Edit:
Couldn't find a "contact us" tab or email anywhere on their website.

the ph.# at bottom of flier would give any answers i cant.
the track just gives us a piece of land to have races on....nothing more, thats why u wont see anything on there web sight. this came from "flattrack.com
race foremat and rules etc.
SpeedSprint@Highlands
Here's my post from 7 months ago. It explains the format and rules and I don't have to re-type it all. If you have questions pertaining to the rules post them up. Like I said, we've already done this once and it worked out perfectly. Even riders who didn't make the 'mains' all felt like they got their money's worth and did a lot of racing.

*********************SPEEDSPRINT FORMAT**************************
What the is SPEEDSPRINT you ask? Well pay attention and I'll explain it. Max and I have been developing this idea for some time, and everyone we've mentioned it to has been as pumped as we are.

-Bikes must be minimum 250cc and use FT tires (NO OTHER RESTRICTIONS).
-Must be min 16 years old
-There will be 3 rounds of heats, 4 laps, and 4 riders per heat (like Speedway)
-We randomly shuffle the lineups for each round so you will never matchup against the same 3 riders.
-At the end of the 3 rounds of heats we add up your points (10-1st, 7-2nd, 5-3rd, 2-4th, 0-DNF/DNS)
-We take the top 12 scorers to the main events
-C main: Riders 9-12
-B main: riders 5-8
-A main: riders 1-4
-The winner of the C main goes to the B main (second row)
-The winner of the B main goes to the A main (second row)
-We take $15 from the $40 entry fee of each rider and put it in the pot for the A main which we will pay out 100%. So if there's 32 riders, that's $480 purse and EVERYBODY gets a shot at it. How cool is that?

This format is perfect for ST racing where horsepower is not the name of the game. You get a good start and hold em off for 4 laps, you just scored 10 points! If you have a bad race, no sweat you get 2 more shots at it against different riders. And don't think only the FAST guys will get to the A main. If 4 FAST guys are all in the same heat, someone is only getting 2 points! We feel this is going to be HUGE fun and great for the fans to watch. It's going to be fast and furious with non-stop action.

We will run a regular format for youth, Maddogs and Quads (1 heat, 1 main).

those mad dawg classes were a big deal about 8 or 10 years ago. If I remember there were regular weekend races at a track over in Huffman. They had some decent payouts and some seriously built XR100s with close to 150cc's.

I've got 17's and GP rains on my Formula 7 XR100 and would really like to try this out. BT45s would probably hook up ok on the track too. Might be down on power if those big bores show up though. I can't think of much else you'd need beyond the normal TMGP safety wiring.

I did find this online...not sure if it applies here or not.

Quote:
Several riders/owners in the Mad-Dog class were present for a meeting to discuss a new rules package at the final VDTRA event at the Texas Dirt Motor Plex. Each of the concerns that were brought up were put to a vote and the majority ruled. The following riders/owners participated in the meeting to create the rules for the class that will be enforced next year:

Bryan Debrick
Jim Henry
Bubba Shobert AKA Joe Prussiano
John Meeker
Glen Stubblefield
Ted York
Danny Hammond
Malcolm Laing
Johnny Johnson and his buddy Bob
Tiger Clark
Mike Newton
Bryan Trippe
Joey Raborn
Also there were a few signatures that I could not read.

The main concern of this meeting was the displacement limit and the number of bikes that have been in the class for years over 150cc. The question was, do we need a displacement limit if the motor began life as an air cooled 150 or less? We voted and the majority said we need a displacement rule.

The next question was, do we need a 150cc limit? If we do, will it kill the class locally due to the number of machines at or near 175cc? We voted and the majority said the displacement limit will be 175cc. This was the main concern before we voted on the rest of everyone's concerns.

The following is a list of rules for the 2010 Texas Dirt Mad-Dog class:

1. The engine must be an air-cooled 4-stroke (2-valve) engine that began life at 156cc or less. Note: 2003-2005 CRF 150F is 156cc stock.

2. The displacement limit will be 175cc.

3. No rear knobbies.

4. Protest fee is $200.00.

5. Minimum age will be 21.

6. No 4-valve kits or water cooled heads.

7. Must burn pump or race gasoline. No methanol allowed.

8. Any wheel combination will be allowed.

9. Any FRAME and ENGINE combination, as long as the engine meets the rule #1 requirement.

I am sure that other concerns will come about later. But this gives us a base to start with.

Remember, the 2010 Mad-Dog rules that we voted on are for Texas Dirt only. If another track owner/promoter wants to use the rules, it is their option.

Also, I spoke to Mr. Lee and he plans on putting up purse money at several events next year at Texas Dirt for the Mad-Dog class.

I hope that we are able to have large numbers of these bikes at all of the races next year like we had October 17.

18 bikes!!!

yep these are the rules they will go by for mad dog. dont worry too much bout the big bores showing up, not many out there, and short slick track does not reward too much power. roadrace rains work great (thats what won last time) although just about any tire can work good, just depends what the track does....dirt is a lot different than asphalt...always changing.
i will be there with my maddog bike, yall come play.

there in no tech insp. to speak of...i think if your throttle snaps back your good.

just rember NO REAR KNOBBIES... the reason is they tear up the track and they work to keep it smooth. although i was at that meeting and a trials tire is legal for rear...has really close spaced knobs

stock wheels with some sort of dual sport tires work great also

maddog, youth, and atv....1 heat 1 main
