HID will not come on

My Hids all of a sudden refuse to come on... All day today they were working fine, then on my ride home from work I notice that my high beam light on my dash wasn't on I go to turn on the high beams and nothing happens... I make the rest of the ride home get off and notice that my headlights are not on period high and low both don't illuminate. I checked the fuse box all fuses are good and the wireing doesn't seem to be loose anywhere(not an electrician by any means) what could be the problem? shouldn't the indicator on my dash work weather the lights work or not?

What hid's (brand) do you have?

Did you try installing a regular bulb to verify the circuit works

Yes, the indicator should come on if it gets a signal, wheither the light comes on or not.

Need a wiring diagram to adequately diagnose, however since they are A/M HIDs, and your high and low both have gone out, you need to find a common between the two like the light switch or a power/ground.

Not condemning your low/high beam switch but it is a possibility. You can jump over teh switch at the connector w some paperclips to check the lights if you have a wiring diagram to go by.

Sounds like a bad ballast.

Hard to believe both ballasts would go out simultaneously.
Check your wiring and verify power to the ballasts.

Fuse was blown and replaced. I'm thinkin a short somewhere cause the lights still won't come on. I don't have a voltmeter nor a test light at my place so troublshooting is being a B right now. All wiring for HIDs have been pulled off and reseated, still no lights.

Only electrical problems bike is experiencing is headlights, no other problems.

i got the same problem on my bike. (03 zx6r). the HID is too much power for the the bike to generate so it blows the fuse out. check the fuse for the headlight, most likely gonna be ur problem.

Sounds like a wire came loose and is now shorting out. Possibly not even the hid kit... But most likely. IMO anyway.

You told me after they were installed... it's not their fault anyway the ballasts are fine.
