Give RDeazy a yell. He is in Caldwell which is very close to CS. In fact the run between Caldwell and CS is a very fun one, which we did many times when I was at A&M.

Click here for a post by RDeazy and a map of a great ride in the area..

I'm in College Station...for now. We have a group of sportbikes and we ride about 3x a week. Let me know when you're up here and I'll get you hooked up with some guys to ride with.

TAMUMC meets at the Taco Cabana on Texas near University Wednesdays at 7pm. Attendance is kinda low during the summer, but the fall semester picks up at the end of the month and they will be back in full swing.

Did TAMUMC ever start riding? I met up with some of those guys but they always hung out and ate at Taco C but never would actually ride.

Oh, our group hangs out at Kroger's at Booneville Rd and Hwy 6 in Bryan by the new movie theater on Wednesday nights around 8:30-9pm. A lot of times we meet somewhere and go riding at 7ish and then roll up to Krogers to hang out afterwards.

Rides aren't normally on Wed nights, although we have arranged rides to other establishments on occasion. Most rides are on the weekends. Over the summer we have had the occasional spontaneous get-together-and-ride on weekdays.

You guys should come out to Krogers. We meet out there with a few (5-30 depending on the night) bikes and lots of old muscle cars.

Is there still a group at Sonic on Harvey on Thursdays? I haven't been out there in a while.

New Krogers at Booneville Rd and Hwy 6.

Bikers were run off from Sonic on Thursdays from what I heard for being stupid in the parking lot. I've never been up there personally.

Stupid bikes

seems like that happens everywhere around here in Tyler, a group of bikes can't hang out for a minute without someone getting us kicked out!

Doesn't suprise me. When I first started going up there, there were tons of people with only a few dumbasses. My final semester there, the crowd was about 1/4 where it was, and mostly a bunch of stupid people.

The Sonic group was the unofficial A&M club, going by TAMC, since nobody would do the required paperwork with the school. The group just used the name and everybody was welcome. The TC group didn't ride much this last semester since they were trying to do things by the book and wait until the insurance issues were handled. Most of what is involved in being officially recognized by the school is CYA stuff. It's tedious and stupid, but it's still the rules. And everybody is still welcome.

I quit going out to Sonic when the rides were to bars instead of really going somewhere. :BangHead: I'm not one to look lightly on drinking any quantity of alcohol and riding, even short distances. We used to meet up and ride 166, 3090, the forest, 390, 159, and others. Sometimes find a dark road and have some dragracing fun.

We met at Sweet Eugenes until someone tried to back over a row of bikes with their Suburban. Then we went across the street and met in the new (large and empty) Office Max parking lot. We left there to Sonic when people decided they wanted easy access to food and beverages.

When I was there, they tried to make it official, but the university saw it as too much of a risk. Then they tried again and the university required us to have a certain type of insurance coverage that was just too expensive for everbody to cover. I always saw Thursday nights as the night to be social, and then meet up and ride on the weekends. I went on a couple of rides on Thursday nights, but quit when I saw that majority of them liked to cruise at the centruy mark. I job in school was a bus driver, and I wasn't about to chance losing my job for a few minutes of fun.

As far as NG, I see nothing wrong with splitting a pitcher between 4 or 5 guys. Now, going up there to get smashed and then riding home is a different story. I was a memeber of CARPOOL and everybody I hung out with knew that, so I tried to set an example. When we'd go out to party, we'd always get dropped off and take CP home.

TAMUMC is moving to Tuesday nights. This week was at Buffalo Wild Wings, but they are looking for a change of venue. Check the site if you want to hook up with them.
