Yall thought hostclaw was bad?

I was listening to the radio on the way to work and they were talking about how many traffic tickets that were issued last year. 180k tickets, $20 million in revenue. But get this: one officer, Matt Davis, averages 10k tickets a month and makes $60k a year in overtime alone. Don't know what precinct he works but watch out for this guy.

Hmmm, an after thought...wonder if they have some kind of morbid rivalry with each other.

I was listenignt o the same show, the question was is ticketing writing a revenue generator, or a safety precaution.

I think it's a revenue generator.

I personnaly have been given a ticket for 61 MPH in a 60 MPH zone, to me that's horseshit.

1 MPH over the limit on I-10 is not going to keep me from killing a bus full of nuns.

Ya I got one for 31 in a 30 once. Judge dismissed it rather quickly. In fact, he tore up the paper work right in front of the officer lol. Of course, I'm sure it helped that I used to mow his yard as a kid.

i really doubt that. 10K tickets per month is 322 tickets PER DAY if he works 31 days. IF he works 18 hour days, which i really doubt, he'd need to write 1 ticket every 3 minutes, or 18 per hour. I really don't see that happening

License, ins, and reg. and speeding could be 4 in one. It really depends how they count it.

Especially if he's a real giving out equipment tickets. A crack in your tail light or turn signals. No front license plate. Ect...

You'd be surprised how many cars in houston are driving around with 10+ violations on them all day.

its not the nuns they are worried about...

Its the short bus full of slow kids that they are protecting

Ya I thought about that as well but I bet they're counting each violation as a "ticket".

but on the other hand, if they are actually violations, then that is one cop that is doing their job. i have no problem with my tax dollars paying him.

speeding tickets, insurance tickets, running red lights and stop signs... if those are what a majority are, then I fully support him

Is there any way to verify this? I can see their numbers being misinformed, but not to the extent to which you guys are indicating.
