Thoughts on reg BMC or Race filter

Just wanted to see what ppls thoughts were on the subject. I need a new airfilter and am going with BMC. but they have the stock, the race, and track. Wanted to see if someone could tell me the difference? Somone told me that the race filter was bad if it was a street only bike bc stuff will get passed it. But idk? thoughts and suggestions plz! oh ya, no I dont have a power commander. but I have the MJS midpipe and GYTR slip on.

Yeah don't get a race filter for street driving. Its just beyond unneccesary. You can't even take advantage of the racing filters air flow without some serious tuning.

I've always used OEM filters, I just cut the metal screen in front of it off. I'll trade the .3hp for the MUCH better filtration any day.

You might actually get better performance with the OEM filter. The only advantage to BMC or H&N is it will be the last filter you buy because you can clean/reuse/recharge the filter.

This. ^
The minute .2 hp you may get from a "race"' filter will be more than offset by the damage to your engine caused by allowing more dirt into it.
Fwiw, we keep the street BMC in stock.
