Sorry, but warmers have nothing to do with it. If you go out on the first lap of a session with cold tires and push hard you get that result. If you don't have warmers, and if the track didn't come in yet just take it easy the first two laps.

Sorry for a rational, no BS comment .

Lack of progressive "roll on" acceleration while in a leaned corner? "Throttle Maintenance"? But what do I know...Im a nub.

There is a canned speech given to all intermediate level riders at almost every trackday for each of the morning sessions that goes something like this:

Remember guys, this is a trackday, not a race. Give your tires 1 lap to begin to warm up, another lap to remember your lines and get in the groove, a third to get your head screwed on straight, and on the 3rd to 4th lap you'll be good to go.

unfortunately, people have generally poor listening skills when a 150 HP bike is ready to roll out on a fresh racetrack.

At TTD last year we sometimes were forced to send out an instructor in the intermediate level morning sessions to keep the speed in check. If you passed the instructor, you got to sit out a few sessions. Probably 50% of the crashes I've seen at trackdays are from over exuberance in the first 1-2 laps of intermediate sessions on colder tires.

So what can we learn? Either he wasn't told, or he didn't listen. Cold tires = crash. Warmers can only help so much.

However, I see the OP has 1 trackday under his belt, so it must have been the lack of warmers that sent him sliding. He had at least 45 minutes of track experience by that point in the day, so he must have had it all figured out.

Sorry about your crash, but super glad you walked away unhurt. Now that the track cherry is busted, it's time to get back on and try it again!

Hey .. it's either warmers or GP shift these days. Didn't you know
If indeed it was the OP's first trackday, he was in Novice. Rule #1 in Novice is that crashing is actually not allowed.

Hey hey i never claimed that it wasnt rider error guys, just that if i had a stickier patch (hot tires) i may not have gone down. But thanks a bunch for all the "pointers" and such. Id taken that turn at a higher speed earlier in the day and guess i thought itd be alright. Apparently since i havent had enough seat time it couldnt have been cold tires?just thought id share my day with a few fellow riders. Flame on guys.
