Anyhow, swing up Tuesday and we'll look the tire over

BEEN THERE DONE THAT......

my front tire went flat on me @ 90 mph because of the valve steam.
my tire was just replaced days before but that is one of the worse feeling for your front tire going flat at that speed.

i am not a tech but i work in a shop and they said that every time you change your tires **its a good idea to change your valve steam** dont really have to do it if they look good but its worth it (rather be safe then sorry)

*every time you get new tires (get an alignment done)
* every time you get new tires (get new valve steam)
* every time you get new brake pads (resurface your rotors)
* every two oil changes rotate your tires
* every 15,000 miles balance your tires....

^^LOLOLOLOL.... just some recommend service!

edit: this only goes to vehicles with 4 wheels...... WARNING **do not try to rotate your tires on your bike**

Just change it out when you get home. If its not made for motorcycles I would change it out. Remember, you only have 2 tires and your life is riding on both of them.

I think he is talking about "Mexico" that mythical, as yet to be named road where there is no speed limit and LEOs are non-existant. Hint hint hint.

so i look over the tire and i see nothing then i see the valve stem is bent. i go to touch it and it bends all the way! the is like cut in half with only very little holding it still on....

so im 12 miles from where im going..... so i try to ride it .... man it felt odd. doing 25-35 mph with no air in the rear tire sucked. stopped evrey 3-5 miles for a min or two to let the tire cool....

my question.. is my tire up now??? i know it got pretty hot. can i just get Motorcycles Unlimited to put a new valve stem in? or do u recommend that i should get a new tire since i rode on this one flat and hot??

who has had a valve stem break????? ive heard of ppl breaking them with the LED valve stem lights. but i dont have that. just a plastic cap.......

valve stem fail
I have broken 3 stems exactly like that on my busa......I went to steel stems and no issues afterwards....I couldn't believe it but...I think high speed just bends the stems over so far for so long it just splits them....

BTW I have not read the replies so I hope I didn't quadruple post....
