Gasoline/Octane Fail...

I just filled up my bike (YZF600R) with Chevron Premium - 93 Octane, but when i got home and read my manual it states to use regular fuel... other then me spending more money then needed, is it bad or will something go wrong internally?

That's a LOT of Seafoam for a few gallons! Did you read the directions at all? Probably shouldn't have been more than a few capfuls at most.

I keep a tiny clear measuring cup next to the Seafoam with it marked at the right level for 4 gals.

I use Plus gas even though Regular should be ok.

you can sell it to him, I wouldn't ride that thing. you've ruined it, go get a 10 speed. and don't pour gas all over it.

Don't worry about it. It's one ounce of Seafoam for every gallon of gas. You were supposed to use 1/4 can of Seafoam for 4 gallons. That's with the 16oz bottle.

My bike takes 91 minimum, so I'm forced to run 93. When it's nice and cold out I run 89 though since I'm not nearly as worried about detonation.

Putting higher octane than needed only hurts your wallet and power output. Realistically it's not going to damage the engine but you'll make more power on 87 than 93.

X2

As long as there isnt evidence of pinging/detonation, it will make 1 to 2 more HP.

87 is all I run in my GSXR1000 Dragbike
