Minimal tire thread

Hi all,
Can I still do a trackday with my front tire looks like in the pic? The rear is pretty much brand new.

My track tires have about 1/8th of depth on the treads on the side. I'll do another TD on them before they get replaced...You're just fine.

If you just got the bike and you don't know the history of the tires, like are they the original tires on the bike... old, sitting for awhile, etc I'd just replace them. If they are fairly new and you know that, then I'm sure they'll be fine. I've crashed trying to get one more race on a set of tires and as I said before, they are the cheapest thing on the bike to replace.

Instead of just replacing them you could check the date of manufacture. There was a thread around here that told how but I can't find it right now. You could PM Patrick and he would tell you how to determine how old the tires are.

Its a four digit stamp on side of tire. Shows week and year tires were made.

I wouldnt take it out on a trackday just yet, have fun on the 600 then after a while take it out for some laps, get used to it on the street first.

That's the plan. I haven't rode it much. It's still in the storage now. Planning to take it to Forest this weekend.

Check the DOT on the tire, the last 4 numbers will tell you week and year.
