Cool! Even though this doesn't match a ninja 250 on paper, it will at least provide competition. Hopefully that will mean a lower price or better features, either of which benefits new riders. If honda prices this competitively with standard ABS, it might have an effect beyond the entry level as well.

It is all it is needed really. SS line and good pads, and these things stop pretty fast.

I'm curious how this bike does not stack up against the ninja on paper?

theres plenty of bike models that never see the US market, smaller bikes are much more desired in other parts of the world and plenty are not sold or advertised here.

It's down ~6bhp or %23 and is not significantly lighter (if it were it might blow away in a strong wind). Radial tires (if it has them) and ABS are pretty good selling points over the ninja however.

Based on the 125 model in Canada, I'm going to guess around $4500.

It does have radials! CBR250 owners won't be relegated to scooter tires!

What will the REAL difference be if it's less 6hp?

I the way it looks.

well, with 35hp if you remove 6hp you take 17% away, which is pretty significant.

this is my first time seeing a picture of it but i had heard it looks a lot like a vfr1200. i care not for the new corporate face, but i'll def be looking for them on the roads next summer. its also nice to see another 250 streetbike on the US market

SICK SICK SICK!!!

And most vtwins have less horsepower than their I4 alternatives, torque makes up for some of this loss. I think this will be a blast to ride.

Look at the RC51 vs. the I4 1 liters

im not saying that a 250 wouldnt sel or isnt needed. im simply saying why build something to compete in a certain market if it isnt anywhere close to physically being able to compete with what is already leading that class.

for example. you have a choice between the cbr250 and a ex250. which one would you choose?

the ex! why? cuz it is only a tank of gas heavier than the cbr with more power and we all know honda isnt exactly cheap
