if you don't have them and get pulled over you have to perform the right hand signals

Actually, the law is that if your bike came from the factory w/ turnsignals, they have to be there and functioning. However, most inspection facilities will not enforce that. If they're there, they gotta work. If they're not, then take them off.

not required, but highly recommended...especially for group rides. It's a seeing hand signals when it's dark out and you're doing 100 mph down the freeway.

And what they said about the inspection...if they are there...they must work.

Texas Law requires the following equipment on Motorcycles and Motor Driven Cycles:

1. Wheel Assembly

8. Motorcycle, Serial, or, Vehicle Identification Number

2. Exhaust System 9. Horn
3. Tail Lamp (1) 10. Mirror
4. Stop Lamp (1) 11. Steering
5. License Plate Lamp 12. Brakes
6. Rear Red Reflector 13. Tires
7. Head Lamp (1)
