911 call from tower 2, 9-11-01

this is upsetting, especially at the end.

http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/kevin...-911-call.html

it was a horrible tragedy, i cant imagine how those 911 operators coped with that. ive talked to someone on the phone while they were dying, helped give cpr intsructions over the phone, and heard some horrific stuff. but i give it up to the dispatchers that day. :notworthy

They've made a movie about 9/11. How disrespectful is that? :eh:

i see it both ways, it is somewhat disrespectful to the families, and at the same time, it helps show people what its like from another standpoint.

i think the profits should go to help the families, not actors. but i also think the stories must be told.

Creepy. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I'm from NY, and my father is a firefighter in Brooklyn. His truck and ladder were called out there that morning, and all but one guy was lost in the collapse. The one who survived was the driver - his job is to stay with the truck, which he did.

I am truly blessed - my dad was on vacation that day. It was his shift and his truck. He didn't even want to be on vacation, but that's the week he got "stuck" with. He feels very guilty for someone else losing their life covering his shift, but we as a family are just lucky to still have him with us.

The movies, from what I understand, have been done tastefully. They are not meant to disrespect the victims or their families, but rather to draw attention to what it was like that day and to show how those events truly changed the world. The families want their loved ones remembered. They want people to think about life and what we have every day and be reminded not to waste a minute of it.

For the wife of the man on the call - I don't even know what to say. :eh:

the fact that someone is making profit off of it is wrong in my opinion.

Shrug, it's what makes this country great. The freedom to do such things, and the freedom to voice your opinion by not supporting the movie if you choose.

I don't have to see the movie to tell you that making a profit off of 3K innocent dead people is disrespectful to them and their families. It's only been 5 years since this happened. Hollywood ain't donating to the families either so don't even believe that .
