Safe parking?

I'm a little concerned. Once I get my bike, I'll be commuting to school and work daily. Work, I'm not TOO concerned about, because I think I can get away with parking it by the front door... Since my job is to stand by the front door, I can keep an eye on it. However...

I'm dead afraid that one of the idiots at my school are gonna knock my baby over, either by running into it, or touching it and trying to sit on it. Bunch of idiots at Hastings. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've got plenty of school pride... But most of the kids who drive to school there don't have their licenses.

If it means anything to ya, I work at the Academy at HW6 and Westheimer. Don't stalk me!

Just park it next to the bike rack and no cars will run into it...might have to make a super cool fort around the bike so people won't sit on it

Don't think I've ever seen a bike rack around Hastings...

Seriously considering the fort idea though.

so really what is considered the proper "parking etiquette"? I seen people parking on the stripped part of handicap spaces, others by the door, and others use a regular parking space (kinda scary in a way there are a whole bunch of idiots that cant drive or women with bigass SUVs thay cant handle)

most of the time if i park I use a regular space close to the door, however I do not stay for long so its ok i guess.

Parking in anything to do with handicapped spaces is NOT cool.; Parking in striped areas, like at the end of a row is ok.
I often go up the handicapped ramp and park up against a building, out of the way of foot traffic. Just beware of fire zones.
At the minimum get a good lock and consider lo-jack or an alarm system.
Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited sells lo-jack and they have an amazing recovery rate, check 'em out...

yeah, I think so too parking in handicap is messed up. thanks for the idea of the end of the row i will try it when at retail places like a mall, walmart etc.

Patrick does have a good reputation, never been there but heard good things about unlimited motorcycles. I will check them out. I do need a lock

, if we had a guard... I wouldn't have been parking my truck illegally these past two years.

Something like THIS?

I've also seen THIS, but I'm not familiar with it.

Haha, I've got no problem with that.

HOWEVER, anyone who wants to take advantage of my discount has to ride with me first.

I'm getting a brand-spanking-new(as stupid as that may be) Ninja 250R.

I know, I know, it's bad to buy a brand new 250 as my first bike. But it's my last big thing before Boot camp... So, fuggit. Gettin' it.

I'm hoping I don't drop mine... However, I've heard that everyone does, eventually. So, mentally, I'm "prepared" for it.

Screw it, dropping it is the least of your concerns. Why dont you do MSF while you wait till you get your bike?
