Why do you do it?

What's are some of the mistakes you have made riding?
And what keeps you on a bike why do you do it?

I've wrecked twice. Waited 10 years after the first one. Waited a month after the 2nd one cause I had a broken collar bone.

My mistakes were: first time, I over reacted. A lady tried to swerve into my lane after the car in front of her braked to turn right. I grabbed 2 handfuls of brake, backside started fishtailing and I dumped it over. Bike skid, I flopped around for about 3 asphalt summersaults then thumped my helmet to a stop. No gear other than the helmet.

Second time was on a group ride and I was target fixating on the person in front of me. A rider went wide and about 3 people behind him did also. I went widest and straight into a wide ditch. Popped it up and landed on my right side. Concussion and broken collarbone.

Do you feel any anxiety when you ride? Like you're afraid of something happening? How did you do on your MSF class? There were several people in my MSF class that you could tell had NO business on a bike.

Biggest oh to date (need to knock on wood),

2 trucks side by side doing 50 in a 60 on a 4 lane divided highway, long turn off lane came up so I droped to and zipped around them only to find a cement truck doing probably 40.... I was boxed in braking hard about to tap the back of the truck just as the 2 trucks passed opening up the escape from the cement truck... it was all at night and after I cleaned my underwear
I swore I'd never commit to a pass that I couldn't see through...

Why ride? beats the cage...

way to many oh moments and only 2 accidents( both not my fault) one down face first at 115 and one i got t boned in a turn the lady hit me going over 60... ive just always loved ridding, even after seeing a friend die right in front of me, that made me think real hard about ridding and all, but i don't think anything will ever make me stop ridding for good. you never know when you will die, you can die just as easy in a car as on a bike, its up to you as the operator to determine who's fault it will be. just stay relaxed and observe and know your surroundings and always have a way out. go to a parking lot and push your limits and comfort zones to the max and always respect the bike and youll be good

and been ridding for almost 8 years on street bikes and i actually ride, for almost 6 of those i only had bikes so i rode every single day no matter the weather.

and i love to get out and just ride, it clears my mind and idk, hard to explain the feeling. its awesome

What's are some of the mistakes you have made riding?

I am sure I make mistakes pretty regularly - been down in low speed turns because I didn't keep my feet UP. Plus, I'm REALLY short, so if I am not careful and put my foot down in a hole, the bike and I go right over.

And what keeps you on a bike why do you do it?

My bike was CHEAP. It gets 55 mpg. My ins is only $200 per year (liability and medical). Plus riding is something that I don't have to share. Like Floyd said - you can get away from ... (mine is the kids). Even if I'm riding in a group, it's all me time.

Or, better yet, ride with people who will respect your riding level. It makes a huge difference when you're in a group who will leave you vs. one that will make sure you're actually LEARNING something.

First I went down I was dumb had never rode before didn't take MSF and flipped my bike. Thankfully I walked away from it took me about 5 yrs to get back on took MSF and another oh was going to the BBQ bike threw a rod and locked the back tire after passing a group of cars but had managed not to lay the bike down. As for why its a stress release and a lot of fun.
