How did he have time to stop?! The rest of the track is only 1/2mile or so long, right?!

That 270 must have been in the morning. I was there after lunchtime and unfortunately I did not see a run that fast. That would have been great to see. I did see someone go 231 on a busa at the end of the day. Also saw the Lambo go 239.6 and then do this on his next run.

Underground Racings twin turbo lambo takes a spill at 230+ mph , parts were flying higher than the tree line.

Never mind got the answer..

Richard is ok. Crashes weren't me or my car. I wasn't able to go this year because I had a wedding/reception at my house yesterday. If it weren't for that I would have been there. Glad I didn't go now. Like Dave said, both the Gallardo and SW's Supra had parachute issues which caused both accidents. SW was running a different wing on the back of his Supra disrupting the air for the parachute. I know Richard's car is a Superleggara model (Gallardo, not Murcielago and is lighter w/ carbon fiber rear wing that is different than most models) and that could have been a factor as well. Both SW and Richard's runs were around the 238mph range when they pulled the chutes.

Richard's accident was so bad that he had to be cut out of the car. That cage no doubt saved his life. I haven't spoken to him, but I spoke w/ Kevin (owner of Underground Racing) and he said he was ok.
