I broke one of my mirrors off when I first started riding so I only had 1 mirror for a very long time. I took off that 1 mirror for a trackday and haven't put it back on since...it looks much better without it imo but I do find myself wondering whats behind me at times, ie: cops. I'd love to order another mirror but ...they are $65 each!

Glad I dont think that way. I would be .

As said before, to each his own.

I have bar ends on my SV650 clipons, I have to glance down away from the road to see them while riding, at a light I'll constantly scan back between the light and the mirrors. Kind of a PITA, I'm trying to find some bar ends that stick up a bit higher.

When ever I stop, I always look to see what the car coming up on me is doing. If he seems to be going a little quick, I get ready to move. Once a few cars get behind me, I ease up a bit cause they are at least between me and other cars.

My reaction time seemed to be pretty quick last night and you would be surprised what you can to when put in a situation where its act or die.

Like I said, I couldnt give two about anyone else having mirrors, helmet, gear. I am worried about me out there, not anyone else that consciously makes their bike or riding experience that much less safe.

There are those who choose function over fashion and vise versa. I choose function in this case cause my life could depend on it.

i only have the left side on and constantly scan between light and cars coming up on me... for me one is enough.

Oddly enough I've always imagined being in the OP's situation at a stop light. that's why i kept the left mirror.

if im moving i turn my head, if im stopped my focus is on the mirror.

I once was a rider with out mirrors but that was because my bike was parked on black top that it got heated up in the summer and my bike kick stand melted into it and it broke a mirror off and it looked stupid with only one so I took the other one off! Other than that I don't mind them.
