I read in Cycle World that there IS a PD that is using Hyabusas and sending the riders off to some Cali racing school.

hahaha...There is no way cops will be riding sportbikes on patrol. Thats only theme bike. Too many cops would get killed or hurt riding the on duty.

they need the big bikes those things are stuffed full of gear.. they have all their citation , and then the road safety kits like first aid and flares and all that stuff. Not to mention they are carrying jackets etc for inclement weather that may occur. And their police radios are decent sized as well. Whatever they ride I assume they would be required to have enough luggage on it to carry that ... plus you gotta think that they are riding those bikes for hours everyday, I don't think I'd want, say, a 600RR for that.

that particular bike isnt a pd bike.

but

the only stipulation is that the bike has to be 1000cc or larger.

they can outfit it with luggage racks to hold any equipment they need.

If im a cop and want to be a bike cop, ill take a goldwing thanx.

They can catch guys using the vette(galveston county)

Im not gonna chase a guy on a bike with my cop bike.....its just dumb.
